Commission Approves Overlay for 518 Area Code - Case 16-C-0297
The NYS Public Service Commission issued a press release regarding their approval for an area code overlay in the 518 area code region which serves all or part of 17 counties in eastern upstate New York. Mandatory ten digit dialing to begin on August 19, 2017 and carriers may begin assigning the 838 area code on September 19, 2017.
