2.4 GW of Offshore Wind Providing Electricity to New York Customers by 2030.
On January 29, 2018, NYSERDA filed a report titled “Offshore Wind Policy Options” paper which is a component of New York State’s Offshore Wind Master Plan. The Master Plan was developed after two years of in-depth research, analysis, and outreach by NYSERDA, to inform a path for meeting a goal of 2,400 MW of offshore wind energy generation by 2030. The Options Paper includes various procurement program design features intended to broadly apply to the development of multiple projects, over time, in different locations that will result in the installation of 2.4 GW of offshore wind generation capacity by 2030 with the ability to deliver electricity to be consumed by New Yorkers.
