VoIP Providers - Direct Access to Numbering Resources

Pursuant to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Order, FCC 15-70, Numbering Policies for Modern Communications et al., interested interconnected VoIP providers can obtain telephone numbers directly from the North American Numbering Plan Administrator and/or Pooling Administrator rather than through intermediaries. The Order provides a process whereby interconnected VoIP providers must first obtain FCC numbering authorization. Once FCC authorization is granted, the applicant must provide the Department of Public Service 30-day notice before requesting numbering resources from the Numbering Administrators.
