Case 21-T-0569 Orange and Rockland Utilities In Person Public Statement Hearings

Orange and Rockland Utilities Inc. filed an application with the New York State Public Service Commission (Commission), seeking approval for a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need to construct, operate, and maintain a new electric underground transmission line(the project) in the Town of Clarkstown, Rockland County.

The Project, known as the Underground Transmission Line 705, will include a 5.5 mile underground 138 kilovolt electric transmission facility beginning at the Burns Substation located in Nanuet and terminating at the substation in West Nyack. There will be modifications at both substations including construction of underground-to-overhead-transition structures, a transformer, tree clearing, and extension of the fence lines.

To ensure full public participation, the Commission will hold in-person public statement hearings on May 25, 2022, to solicit input and comments from the community regarding the petition.
